Reading Strategy
1. Think-Alouds a procedure in which students or teachers simply think out loud as they work through a procedure.
2. Previewing a strategy to motivate students to read.
3. Self-Questioning is technique in which students generate story-specific questions about the impor tant elements of a text as they read in order to better integrate prior knowledge with the text and the reading context.
4. Visualizing the process of forming appropriate mental pictures based on a text to assist under standing.
5. Retelling Oral-To-Oral Retelling: The student listens to a selection and retells it orally. This approach may be most appropriate with fables or folktales
